    Peak Hospitality was founded in 2000 by Walter Barela and his brother, Theo Barela, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company was established with a vision to provide comprehensive hotel management services, including acquisition, development, asset management, and project consulting, focusing on maximizing return on investment for clients .

     

    The Barela brothers brought extensive experience in the hospitality industry to Peak Hospitality. Walter Barela had served in senior management positions with Hilton Hotels Corporation, Regent Hotels, and West Coast Hotels, while Theo Barela had managed several large Hilton hotels in Los Angeles before returning to New Mexico to co-found Peak Hospitality .

     

    Since its inception, Peak Hospitality has grown to manage a diverse portfolio of hotels across the Southwest and Western United States, emphasizing hands-on management, employee empowerment, and the integration of modern technology to enhance both guest and employee experiences.
